Japanese monks make the news twice today. One monk was arrested, because he cultivated marijuana near his temple and apparently also sold some of it. The other allegedly raped a 17-year-old high school girl.
Matsuyama and Okabe conspired to lure the 17-year-old victim into a hotel in Yamagata Prefecture in mid-November, and the priest sexually assaulted her, local police said. They had lied to the girl that she was suffering from a sexually transmitted disease and offered to cure it.
